Sweedy believes that it is important for every person to take as much care of their mental health as they do of their physical health. She aims to provide that space to help people work out their struggles and to be able to discover their strengths and ability to overcome their struggles.
Sweedy has more than five years of clinical work experience and worked with a wide range of clients; children, youths, young adults, couples and families. Her experience lies in working with a whole range of issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, emotional distress, and relationship and familial issues.
Sweedy holds a Master of Arts (Applied Psychology)(Counselling Psychology). She had previously worked in a family service centre setting where she provided counselling and social work support to families, youths and children and also conducted socio-emotional programmes for children and teenagers. Sweedy also has experience working in a university setting where she provided counselling support to undergraduates and postgraduates. On top of that, she also conducted workshops and mental health outreach events.
As a mother of two young children, Sweedy understands the stress and struggles of having to manage marriage, parenting, work and the home. She also uses methods from Gottman Method in her work with couples who are struggling in their marriage or relationships.
Sweedy loves animals and is passionate about animal-assisted therapy, and hopes to be able to complete the training and certification in this area.
